The Infrastructures of Big Science
My new research project sets out to investigate Big Science research facilities in the Global South through the lens of Infrastructures Studies and Latin American STS. Potential case studies have been identified, including the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, the ALMA observatory in the Atacama desert in Chile, and the Synchrotron Light laboratory in Campinas, Brazil.
I am currently working on research proposals and an initial desk review article on the topic. Watch this space for further developments in Fall 2023.
